Is the 30% federal solar tax credit still available?+

No. The Trump Administration ended the 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit on December 31, 2025, so systems placed in service after that date can't claim it. Solar still pays off in Texas — we stay competitive market by market and focus on the savings your specific utility rate delivers. Book a free consultation and we'll show you the current numbers for your home.

Does Texas have a state solar rebate?+

There is no statewide Texas solar rebate. Incentives here are local: Austin Energy and CPS Energy run their own residential programs, and some co-ops and retail providers offer buyback credits. We confirm what's currently available in your market before we quote.

Will solar raise my property taxes?+

No. Texas Tax Code §11.27 exempts the added home value from a solar or wind energy device from property taxes. You get the value without the tax increase.

Do I get paid for extra power I send to the grid?+

It depends on your utility. Municipal utilities like Austin Energy and CPS Energy publish their own credit rates. In deregulated markets like DFW and Houston, you choose a retail plan with solar buyback. We help you compare plans as part of the design.

Installation timelines

How long does the whole process take?+

Most Texas installs run 6 to 12 weeks from signed agreement to permission to operate. Roughly: 1–2 weeks for site survey and engineering, 2–4 weeks for permitting and HOA approval, 1–2 days on the roof, then 2–5 weeks waiting on city inspection and utility interconnection.

How long is the actual installation?+

A typical residential rooftop system is installed in one to two days. Adding battery storage or an electrical panel upgrade can add a day.

What slows a project down?+

Permitting queues in busy cities, HOA review, utility interconnection backlogs, and panel or main service upgrades. We file everything for you and keep you updated at each milestone.

Will my power be out during install?+

Only briefly. There's a short planned outage while we tie into your electrical panel, usually an hour or less.

Financing and payment

What are my payment options?+

Cash purchase, or a solar loan through a lending partner. Cash keeps it simplest; a loan lets you own the system with little or nothing down. We'll walk through both in a free consultation.

Does financing still make sense without the tax credit?+

Yes. With the 30% federal credit gone after December 31, 2025, the math now rests on your utility rate and how much power you use. We'll run the real comparison for your address during a free consultation.

Do you offer leases or power purchase agreements?+

We focus on ownership — cash and loan — because it keeps the incentives and the long-term savings with you rather than a third party.

What happens if I sell my home?+

An owned system transfers with the home. A financed system is either paid off at closing or, with lender approval, assumed by the buyer.
