Enphase: how to reconnect your IQ Gateway to Wi-Fi (AP Mode)

If you replaced your router, changed your Wi-Fi password, or see an offline IQ Gateway (also called Envoy), its internet connection may need to be updated. Your solar panels can still produce while monitoring is offline.

Before you start

  • Confirm your home Wi-Fi has internet access on another device. Restart your router if needed.
  • Have your Wi-Fi network name and password ready, and stand near the Gateway.
  • Many Gateway models require a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Follow the requirements for your model rather than selecting a 5 GHz-only network.

Reconnect using the Enphase app

  1. Open your system in the Enphase app and select the Gateway connectivity or reconnect Wi-Fi option. Menu names vary by app version.
  2. Follow the app's instructions to enable AP Mode using the Gateway's AP Mode button. On supported models, a brief press activates its local setup network; do not hold buttons or use the device-scan button as a reset.
  3. When prompted, connect your phone to the Gateway's local Wi-Fi network, usually named Envoy followed by identifying digits. A 'no internet' warning on this temporary network is expected.
  4. Return to the app, select your home Wi-Fi network, enter its password, and complete the connection steps.
  5. Reconnect your phone to your normal Wi-Fi and allow time for the Gateway to report. Check the last update time and network light (see KM-513).

Do not remove a cover or open an electrical compartment to reach a button. If the button is not safely accessible, the app cannot find the Gateway, or it will not reconnect, call or text us at 806-454-7873.
